Her shoes is a sculpture and photography series that explores the social expectations placed upon the female body within a consumerist society, and how these ideals are manipulated through the objects we wear, or that wear us.  

Each pair of shoes has been created to explore a different facet of this theme, from motherhood and domesticity to the female form as an object. Gloss finishes and synthetic materials represent mass-produced consumerism, but each sculpture has been hand-carved/woven/cut/ sewn utilising a range of materials.  

Each shoe sculpture has been created as a size 4, to fit the artist. The images are self-portraits shot in a home studio, bringing the female form, and a level of the surreal, to each sculpture.
